Gothic Poetry

My heart is aching

My body is shaking

From the tears that drip down my face

It’s causing a heartache

I can’t seem to part with

You’re on my mind

And I don’t want an escape

Falling deeper

The numbness and pain become steeper

I’m losing my sight

As the darkness is crowding

My new found light is fading

And my body is soaked

With memories from past years

I can’t stop falling

While my mind is sprawling

My body lies totally still

The outcome is jolting

As the dirt starts soaking

All that is left of my tears

Flowers are sprouting

But the dirt is not life giving

And soon they too will wilt

My heart has been breaking

But soon there will be no more aching

As I too become one with the earth
