Gothic Poetry

A dreary darkness surrounds me

Like a cloak blocking out the sun

Only one flicker of light in the dismal abyss that has become my home

You

A comforting presence, your warm embrace is soothing

Lulling me into a deep sleep

Voiding my brain of anxiety, of worries

Breathing in the deep, earthy smell of you

The warmth you bring to my cold, frozen soul

A bleak existence made better by your touch

Stroking my hair

Relaying stories, myths, and tales throughout history

A dark past brought to light

Shadows of old turned to ash

All that lies here is you and I

A romance that has yet to be devoured by the flames of night

Perhaps this is forever

Our dark love affair
